WELCOME

An old Arabic house which dates back to the 18^th c. , located in the heart of the old souks of Aleppo which , in turn , goes back as far as the 14^th and 15^th c.

Close to one of the oldest gates of Aleppo : Bab Antakia ; only 50 meters far from the main street of the souk which stretches for 1 km from Bab Antakia to Aleppo citadel.

You will feel the pleasure walking from Bab Antakia to Dar Halabia through the old souk. I have made my choice of this old Arabic house on basis of complete calmness and the beauty of its architecture.

It is composed of many rooms , all looking out on an open courtyard that allows the sun to sneak in all seasons to all the rooms which have more than two windows each.

After I resided this house for three years I decided it should be a hotel where visitors from all around the world can visit and enjoy its charm and tranquility just as our ancestors used to do

DESCRIPTION & LOCATION

The traveler to Aleppo could arrive by his own car , by train or bus coming from other cities.

A- If you arrive by your private car :Once you enter Aleppo you will see road signs reading (city center) , then (Bab Antakieh(Antakia ) . when you arrive to Bab Antakieh (Antakia) you will see the walls of the old city .Here you can park your car very safely, then you walk under the arches of this old gate for about 100 meters where you pass through (Altouté Mosque) the first mosque built in Aleppo. This souk is rich in shops for Bedouin clothes .80 meters after the mosque you will see the simple and quiet street of Dar Halabia on your right hand. (so it's just the third right after Bab Antakieh (Antakia)

B- If you come by a service taxi , you can ask the driver to drop you off at (Bab Antakia ) (see the map).

C- if you come by bus from another city , Bab Antakia is only 300 meters far from the bus station.The mark point is Amir Palace , once you cross it you turn directly to the right where Bab Antakia can be seen.

- In all cases you are kindly advised to call us from anywhere so we can pick you up and accompany you to Dar Halabia.

ACCOMMODATION

After reconstruction works which lasted for a full year , Dar Halabia has been opened. It now consists of two adjacent houses , each keeping its private style and calmness.

The first house has 12 rooms divided on two floors decorated with the local trees and roses from Aleppo. Each room has a bathroom with toilette inside .

We did our best to retain the originality and beauty of the rooms by decorating them with the beautiful carpets and the Aleppine, oriented and old furniture of mirrors, shells ornamented boxes in addition to the handmade metallic beds.

Every room has been furnished with special splendor that differs from the other ones.Our rooms keep their natural coolness in summer and warmth in winter as the walls are more than 200 cm thick.

Like all Aleppine houses , ours has two beautiful underground vaults where we normally keep the provision of drinks. At the same time our friends get down there to enjoy the coolness of summer and warmth of winter; it perfectly serves as the Friends Room .

Later on we have added to the original Dar Halabia an adjacent house with its four quiet and very beautiful rooms overlooking a courtyard with an old lemon tree which spreads its fragrance all around the neighborhood.

In total we have now 19 rooms in Dar Halabia opening their arms to warmly welcome the guests.
